Corporate Culture

The Whitestone REIT Challenge for all associates is to Think and Act like an Owner:

  • In every touchpoint: how we meet, greet, and assist our customers and our co-workers.
  • In every decision: how our day-to-day role impacts profits and makes a difference.
  • In how we are rewarded: achieving specific goals over a certain period of time.

Our corporate culture is a community of servanthood. We serve our ...
Shareholders by working to maximize the value of the enterprise and the real estate Communities we own.
Fellow Associates by providing development & training while encouraging the pursuit of excellence.
Tenants by providing quality rental space within a professional Community atmosphere.
Community by working together in an ethical and honest manner.

Our business is driven by this approach: it is interwoven in the way we do business. It's "how" we lease and manage our Communities; it dictates the size and scale of the Communities we develop; and it sets the standard for the business model that we execute.

We look for and invest in real estate that is well-located in communities, but may be lacking in specific business services, retail goods, or even light manufacturing. Meeting these local market needs by targeting tenants that fulfill them begins to transform real estate into Communities within our properties. We are more than landlords--we build unity and synergy between our tenants, designing a tenant mix for cross-referral business, which is the glue that creates the Community atmosphere within our properties. In doing so, we create value for the community and, more importantly, for our shareholders.
